About us

The broker on your side of the counter.

Northwest Payment Brokers is a local team in Federal Way that has negotiated card processing for Puget Sound businesses since 2010, on one simple model: we work for the merchant, not the processor. It started with one person who thought the whole industry was backwards.

Founder & CEO

Meet Amy Lund.

“Since 2010, I've helped hundreds of Seattle-area businesses cut through the confusion and find real savings on credit card processing. My goal is simple: get you the best rate possible while providing the local support you deserve.”

Amy meets with every client personally.

Amy founded NWPB in 2010 after listening to business owners who wanted a no-nonsense approach to processing and someone to do the comparison shopping for them. Hundreds of merchants later, that is still the whole job.

Here's what makes us different

We're brokers, not processors

We make multiple processors compete for your business, so you get the best rate. We never push one company, because we don't work for them.

We're local

Our team comes to your business. We install your equipment on-site and train your staff in person, here in the Puget Sound.

We're transparent

No hidden fees, no surprise rate increases, no contracts that trap you. You always know exactly what you're paying for.

Why a broker exists

Card processing is priced like used cars: the wholesale cost is published, the markup is whatever the salesperson thinks you'll sign. One business pays 1.9%, the identical business next door pays 3.4%, and neither knows the other's number. That information gap is the whole industry.

A broker closes the gap. Because we place merchants across multiple processors, we know what every kind of account actually clears for, and we make processors bid against that knowledge. The processor pays us a share of what you already pay either way; our share only stays alive if you stay, which means our incentive is your rate staying low and your gear working.

That model is why everything on this site reads the way it does. We name the trick (terminal leases, junk fees, flat-rate at volume) because we don't earn from the trick.

How we work

  • Statement first, free

Every engagement starts by reading your real numbers. If you're already priced well, we tell you so and you keep our read as a benchmark.

  • Bid, not quoted

Your account is shopped across processors. You see the bids in plain language and you pick. No pressure, no obligation.

  • Set up before you go live

Fee programs, receipts, signage and equipment arrive configured for your rules. Compliance is our homework, not yours.

  • Free equipment for qualifying businesses

Many merchants qualify for free terminal placement and POS systems. We tell you up front what you'll pay for and what you won't.

  • Supported after the sale

Rate-creep audits, statement reviews, equipment swaps, dispute help, and a local rep who picks up. The relationship is the product.

The people behind your rate

Amy did not build a call center. She built a local team that shows up. When you switch to NWPB, real people read your statement, come to your counter, install your equipment and train your staff, then stay on as the rep you call when something needs attention.

You do not have to take our word for it. The team shows up by name in the reviews, again and again, for walking merchants through the switch and being there long after the sale.

“Great service, very responsive, and they often go the extra mile even when we don't ask. We've really appreciated having a local presence we can interact with in person.”
