What Clover actually is

Clover is the system we quote most often, and for a simple reason: it does almost everything competently. One account runs your register, your online ordering, your loyalty program, your gift cards and your staff scheduling, and it all reports into one dashboard you can read from your phone.

It's built by Fiserv, one of the largest payment companies in the world, which cuts both ways. The platform is mature and the hardware is excellent. But bought directly, or through a random reseller, the software tier and the processing behind it are routinely overpriced. That's where we come in: same Clover, negotiated cost.

The app market is the quiet differentiator. Need ingredient-level recipe costing, a queue screen, QuickBooks sync or a self-serve kiosk mode? There's a vetted app for it, which means Clover grows with you instead of being replaced by the next system.

What it does well

Loyalty and gift cards built in

Points, punch cards and digital gift cards run natively, no third-party bolt-on or extra monthly bill.

Branded online ordering

Pickup, delivery and curbside under your own name, synced to the same menu and inventory as the counter.

Real-time inventory

Item-level tracking with low-stock alerts, label printing and vendor management.

Staff tools

Scheduling, time clock, per-employee permissions and sales reporting per team member.

Multi-location ready

One dashboard across locations, with menus and pricing managed centrally.

An app market that fills gaps

Hundreds of vetted apps: accounting sync, reservations, kiosks, scales, age verification and more.

Our take as your broker

Clover is the safe, powerful default, and that's exactly why it's so often overpriced: people buy the brand without bidding the processing.

We quote the same hardware with the program and rates negotiated for you, and we're the local team that sets it up on your counter.

Pairs with our programs

Clover runs our dual pricing program cleanly: both prices display on the customer screen, the math happens automatically, and your statement shows the fee leaving. It also takes gift cards through Factor4 and E-Gift, so your existing card balances migrate over.

How dual pricing works →

The hardware

Clover Station Duo

The full counter setup: merchant screen plus customer-facing display, receipt printer and cash drawer.

Clover Mini

A compact all-in-one for tight counters. Full register features in a footprint the size of a tablet.

Clover Flex

The handheld. Take orders and payment at the table, in line or at the curb, with a built-in printer.

Clover Kiosk

Self-ordering for QSR. Customers order and pay while staff make food instead of taking orders.

How businesses run it

The cafe with a line out the door

A Flex in the line plus a Station at the register clears the morning rush, and loyalty keeps the regulars coming back.

The three-location retailer

One inventory, centralized pricing, and per-location reporting without driving between stores.

The full-service restaurant

Tableside ordering on Flex handhelds, kitchen routing, and tips handled correctly per server.

Best for

  • Full-service restaurants and QSR
  • Retail shops of every size
  • Salons, spas and service businesses
  • Owners who want one system that does everything

The honest part

Software tiers are priced per vertical and the costs stack if nobody is watching. And if your business needs one specialized thing done deeply, like salon commissions or liquor-store case-break inventory, a specialist system may beat it.

That candor is the broker difference: we carry seven systems precisely so we never have to force the wrong one on you.

Clover, answered

Is Clover expensive?

The hardware is mid-range and fair. What varies wildly is the software tier and the processing margin attached to it. Bought through us, the processing is bid competitively, which is usually where thousands a year hide.

Can I keep my menu and inventory if I switch to Clover?

Yes. We handle the import: menu, modifiers, inventory and gift card balances. Most businesses switch with one slow-afternoon changeover.

Does Clover work if the internet goes down?

It keeps taking card payments offline and syncs when the connection returns. Full cloud features like online ordering need the connection back.

Can Clover run dual pricing?

Yes, and it's one of the cleanest implementations we install. Both prices are posted and the terminal does the math automatically.

Which Clover device fits my counter?

Tight counter, go Mini. Full setup with a customer screen, Station Duo. Tableside or curbside, add a Flex. We spec it during the free consult so you don't overbuy.

Can I take Clover to a farmers market or pop-up?

Yes. The Flex runs on battery and LTE, so the same account that runs your counter sells at the market on Saturday.
